The City has received and is currently assessing an application for a Nursing Home and Office at the above mentioned address.

The proposal is briefly described as follows:

  • A three (3) storey building is proposed comprising of a 1,813m² Office for the Brightwater Head Office on the ground floor and 128 beds located across Levels 1 and 2;
  • Residential aged care facilities such as a salon, physiotherapy, gym and clinical hub is proposed on the ground floor;
  • The provision of 107 at-grade car parking bays;
  • Vehicle access via Walter Road West; and
  • The retention of 29 mature trees onsite.

The Development Assessment Panel application is to be assessed against the provisions of the following planning framework:

  • City of Stirling Local Planning Scheme No. 3;
  • Clause 67 of Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015 Schedule 2;
  • State Planning Policy 7.3 – Residential Design Codes Volume 2;
  • The Village Local Development Plan;
  • Local Planning Policy 4.5 – Private Institution Design Guidelines;
  • Local Planning Policy 6.2 – Bicycle Parking
  • Local Planning Policy 6.3 – Bin Storage Areas;
  • Local Planning Policy 6.6 – Landscaping;
  • Local Planning Policy 6.7 – Parking and Access; and
  • Local Planning Policy 6.11 – Trees and Development.
