Local Planning Strategy – A plan for our future growth

The City of Stirling's Local Planning Strategy will guide the future development of our City to make the most of our potential growth.

The consultation period is now closed

Perth is home to a rapidly growing population and the City of Stirling has been identified by the State Government as a major growth area.

An increased population can bring many challenges, but we are planning to make sure the growth expected within the City of Stirling is met in a positive and sustainable way.

We are developing a Local Planning Strategy that will set out the vision and long-term planning directions for our City over the next decade and beyond, and we want your feedback!

Why is the Local Planning Strategy important?

This strategy will guide the long-term growth and development of our City to meet the needs of our current and future communities by:

  • prioritising growth and investment in activity centres and along transport corridors
  • keeping existing jobs across the community and working to create more jobs
  • improving ways to link land use and transport
  • improving the quality and liveability of the City.

Once finalised, all land-use planning decisions within the City of Stirling will be made based on the Local Planning Strategy.
