Amendment 90 - 6, 8, 10 and 12 Bazaar Terrace, Scarborough

Consultation has now concluded

Planning and Development Act 2005

TOWN PLANNING SCHEME AMENDMENT

Local Planning Scheme No.3:- Amendment No.90

Rezone House Numbers 6, 8, 10 and 12 Bazaar Terrace, Scarborough from 'Civic' to 'Residential (R30)'

In February 2018, Council considered a change to the zoning of House Numbers 6, 8, 10 and 12, Bazaar Terrace, Scarborough from ‘Civic’ to ‘Residential (R30)’.

The site was previously used as a kindergarten until it was demolished in June 2016. As the City, who owns the land, no longer requires the site for civic uses, a decision has been made to dispose of the land.

Before this site can be used for any other purpose, the zoning of the land needs to change. Council has decided to start the process necessary to allow this site to be used for housing. The plan, located in the Document Library, shows the rezoning.

The proposed ‘Residential (R30)’ zoning would reflect the zoning of the surrounding land which is also zoned ‘Residential (R30)’. If the rezoning is approved by the Minister for Planning, eight single houses or grouped dwellings would be able to be built on the site. Any new houses would be assessed against the requirements of the Residential Design Codes and any houses built could be of the same height of these newly developed in the area (that is, up to two storeys).

Where can I find more information about the amendment?

More information about why the City is intending to rezone this land can be found in the Council report, which is located in the Document Library.

The Scheme Amendment document details the changes to the Local Planning Scheme No.3 that the City is proposing, which is located in the Document Library.

Alternatively, a copy is available for viewing during business hours (8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday) at the City of Stirling Main Administration Building located at 25 Cedric Street, Stirling.
