Beaufort Street Inglewood, 40km/h speed reduction

Variable speed reduction on Beaufort Street.

The City of Stirling has received numerous requests, over many years, to lower the speed limit along Beaufort Street. Lowering the speed limit will likely increase safety and vibrancy, and will foster greater community and commercial activity in the area between Central Avenue and Crawford Road, Inglewood.

Traffic data collected from the section of Beaufort Street through Highgate to Mt Lawley show that drivers are slowing of their own accord, so reducing the speed limit would be in line with this.

The City envisages the speed along Beaufort Street would be reduced to 40km/h from 7.30am to 10pm Sunday to Thursday, and 7.30 am to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
