Mount Lawley Streetscape Study

The City of Stirling is undertaking a streetscape study for the Mount Lawley centre along the section of Beaufort Street between Walcott Street and Queen Crescent, including Beaucott and Astor Lanes.
The study will seek to establish a community vision for the area and develop a preferred design option to improve and enhance the qualities of the existing heritage character of the area through streetscape improvements. This will include opportunities for public art, theming, street furniture, tree planting and improved public spaces and places.

In October 2018, the City worked with members of the community to identify key urban design principles for streetscape design and activation along this section of Beaufort Street. The 'Vision Workshop' provided the background to the project and identified key streetscape issues relating to similar local, national and international projects.

The Vision Workshop presentation and consultation report is available in the Document Library to the right of the page, or by clicking here .

Upcoming Streetscape Design Options Workshop

The City is holding a 'Design Workshop' on 13 March 2019 to present the outcomes of the Vision Workshop and agree on a preferred option for streetscape improvements and activation along Beaufort Street.

Two design options will be presented for the community’s consideration, which will be followed by roundtable discussions. Refreshments will be provided.
