Draft Mount Lawley Streetscape Study

The City of Stirling is seeking community feedback on the draft Mount Lawley Streetscape Study for the Town Centre precinct in Mount Lawley. The study was conducted to establish a preferred Streetscape scenario that meets community needs.

Centred along Beaufort Street, the precinct is bound by Queens Crescent, Alvan Street, Walcott Street and Field Street, and includes Astor and Beaucott Lanes.

The City commissioned independent consultants Mackay Urbandesign to carry out the study using feedback from a number of community workshops conducted in October 2018 and March 2019.

The City is now seeking further community feedback on these findings, to help shape an implementation plan for the Mount Lawley Town Centre.

We thank you for your interest in this exciting project and we appreciate your feedback.

Background information

In October 2018, the City worked with members of the community to identify key urban design principles for streetscape design and activation along this section of Beaufort Street. The 'Vision Workshop' provided the background to the project and identified key streetscape issues relating to similar local, national and international projects.

The City held a 'Design Workshop' on 13 March 2019 to present the outcomes of the Vision Workshop and agree on a preferred option for streetscape improvements and activation along Beaufort Street.
