Mount Lawley Streetscape Study

The City of Stirling is undertaking a 'streetscape' study for the Mount Lawley centre along the section of Beaufort Street between Walcott Street and Queen Street, including Beaucott and Astor Lanes.
The study will seek to establish a community vision for the area and develop a plan to improve and enhance the qualities of the existing rich heritage character of the area though streetscape improvements. This will include opportunities for public art, theming, street furniture, tree planting and improved public spaces and places.

Community Consultation

The City will be organising two events to engage the local community in the project:

Vision Workshop - Wednesday 31 October 2018

The Vision Workshop provided the background to the project and identified key streetscape issues relating to similar local, national and international projects. Community members who attended the workshop participated in roundtable discussions which identified key urban design principles for streetscape design and activation along this section of Beaufort Street.

The vision workshop presentation and consultation report is available by clicking here.

Alternatively, it can be located to the right of the screen.

Streetscape Design Options Worshop - March/ April 2019

The Streetscape Design Workshop will include a presentation on the outcomes of the first workshop. Two design options will be presented for the community’s consideration. This will be followed by roundtable discussions to agree on a preferred option for streetscape improvements and activation along Beaufort Street.
