Proposed closure of road reserve adjacent to Dog Swamp Shopping Centre

Consultation has concluded

The City of Stirling has received a request to close a portion of road reserve and amalgamate it with Dog Swamp Shopping Centre.

The road reserve is an area of approximately 194m² abutting Lot 18, House Number 6, Wanneroo Road, Yokine, commonly known as ‘Dog Swamp Shopping Centre’.

Under Section 58 of the Land Administration Act 1997, the City must give notice of this proposed change and invite written comments or objections about this proposal.

The City is proposing to request the Minister for Lands to:

  • Close this 194m² of road reserve
  • Amalgamate the 194m² of resulting land into Lot 18, House Number 6, Wanneroo Road, Yokine, known as the 'Dog Swamp Shopping Centre'.

The applicant has advised that, if the City’s proposed request is granted by the Minister for Lands, this would provide:

  • A more regular lot configuration for the Dog Swamp Shopping Centre
  • Scope for more efficient use of the land around the Dog Swamp Shopping Centre, for example landscaping, an entry statement feature or a small scale additional retail offering complementing the fast food outlet.

Additional information such as the location map, Council resolution and FAQs are available to the right of this page.

The City invites you to provide a written comment or objection about this proposal by 5.00pm on Monday 17 June 2019.

Alternatively, written submissions can be provided:

  • By email: stirling@stirling.wa.gov.au
  • By post: C/o Property Services, City of Stirling, PO Box 1533, Osborne Park WA 6916
  • In person during business hours (8.30am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday) at the City of Stirling, Main Administration Building located at 25 Cedric Street, Stirling.
